Today’s little bugger is actually one of the first character voices I’ve had to build up myself, based on producer direction.
Apart from the 2D model below, some of the other available information at the time of recording was:
Name: Snakerton A. Scalery
Age: 8
Likes: Eggs
Dislike: Failure (lol)
Personality: On the surface, he seems sweet and childlike, but underneath it all, he’s dangerous and manages to reign fear into the others. Says a lot of nonsensical and cryptic things that others dismiss… at their own risk.
Basically, it’s like asking for a crossover between Stewie Griffin and Heath Ledger’s Joker.
The reason I ended up liking this character was that it really pushed me away from the comfort zone of deep voices. It made me explore a part of my range that, ultimately, added a whole new blend of pitch/tone combinations for me to work with.
Day 10 – Snakerton (Sycamore Rockwell) – Jungleville
Snakerton features in Stephen Palmer’s “Jungleville” fundraiser parody.
If you want to read more about the overall Jungleville experience, this summary I wrote a while back might be of help.
